Leading, managing and developing a sizeable finance team with responsibility for, including but not limited to, statutory reporting, management accounting, payroll, tax, revenues and payablesSupporting the CFO in the annual budget setting processLeading the ongoing budgetary monitoring, forecasting, variance analysis and liaison with departmental managersMonitoring and reporting on the overall financial position of the organisationSupporting the CFO with strategic planning for the organisation in order to provide ongoing improvement and development of operational outputsLeading and developing medium and long-term financial planningLeading the production of statutory accounts and liaison with external auditorsManaging the treasury function including cash flow management and supporting investment decision-makingManaging the Internal Audit and Counter Fraud functionProviding financial advice and reports to Chief Executive, Senior Leadership Team and ManagementEnsuring the finance department offers effective customer service to both internal and external key stakeholders and customersPromoting change and innovation to support continuous improvement within the organisation
To apply, it is essential that you are a qualified accountant with a previous background in the public sector. You will be experienced in leading the annual statutory accounts process and liaising with external auditors. You will also be comfortable and have a track record of leading very large teams. This role covers maternity for a 12-month period and will commence at the start of October 2024.
Salary:
circa £90,000 p.a. plus benefits or day rate equivalent.
