Plant Operative Grounds Maintenance in Swansea

The successful candidate will primarily undertake grounds maintenance work, including grass cutting using a large agricultural tractor with relevant attachments. They will be responsible for maintaining the equipment to specified standards and performing daily maintenance, such as greasing. The candidate will also be expected to prepare, plan, and organize their assigned workload. Occasionally, they will work within a parks team, using a variety of handheld grass-cutting equipment.
Responsibilities:
Operate agricultural large tractors, plant and machinery to undertake an operational service carrying out assigned work to the relevant standards and specifications.
Prepare, plan and organise assigned workload to complete it within given timescale, meet priorities and fit it with others.
Maintain the facility / equipment to given standards and carry out necessary daily maintenance e.g. greasing
Maintain the security of the machinery and equipment to set standards, and retain records as prescribed.
Operate specialised equipment / trade tools in the correct manner and carry out routine adjustments and Maintenance.
Participate in undertaking Traffic management (Chapter 8) works
Compile, collate and maintain records as required by Council procedure and relevant regulations.
Undertake yard person duties, including maintaining stores stock levels and opening/securing of the site/yard at start and finish of the day.
Use of correct proportions and applications in preparing and using materials. Understanding of work methods requiring a specified level of expertise and knowledge of potential hazards and capability to cope with them.
Undertake such other duties and tasks appropriate to the grade and character of work as may reasonably be required. Therefore, the above list of responsibilities in this job description should not be regarded as exclusive or exhaustive
