Brentwood, United Kingdom Shenfield High School Full time
PSHRE Subject Lead

(Personal Development and Beliefs & Values)

TLR 2c including Outer London Fringe Allowance

Required September 2024

The role

This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and talented practitioner to join our popular and highly successful social sciences department. In KS3 we see pupils fortnightly for Personal Development (PSHE) and weekly for Beliefs and Values (RE). In KS4 we offer courses in Sociology and Health and Social Care. At KS5 we offer A Levels in Law, Psychology and Sociology and BTEC courses in Health and Social Care. We wish to add GCSE RE to this portfolio of subjects and plan to offer A level Philosophy from September 2024. Consequently, we are particularly keen to hear from candidates who can teach, lead and develop PSHRE from KS3 through to KS5.

This area of the curriculum has never been more important in ensuring that our young people enter society able to make sense of the world and their place in it; able to contribute to the big debates facing humanity and to have an understanding about different cultures, beliefs, and customs as well as their own personal wellbeing, safety and prosperity.
