Shipping Operative

We are looking for a Shipping Operative to join our Wincanton team on our Crawley site. You will report into the Team Leader and be expected to demonstrate flexibility and capability to perform all aspects of warehousing to meet all key performance indicators and exceed customer expectations. 

Successful candidates will be required to obtain and maintain Security Clearance

Day to Day 

  • Ensure the correct handling of products is carried out at all times of the facility
  • Supporting the operational efficiency of the site by pitching in with general housekeeping and hygiene standards around the warehouse and site
  • Operating both customer and Wincanton IT systems
  • Completing necessary administration and paperwork accurately
  • Be available for call out work as part of an existing team
  • Work within safe systems of work in line with Wincanton Health & Safety legislation and guidelines 
  • React to change due to operational and client requirements and carrying out duties in a professional and timely fashion

What will you bring?

  • Knowledge of Shipping functions and systems but not essential
  • Ability to work as part of a team but also independently and to show initiative 
  • Demonstrate good team motivation and communication skills
  • Ability to use IT Systems in accordance with training provided
  • Knowledge of ERP / MRP would be an advantage but not essential
  • Understanding of Export Terms would be an advantage
  • Attention to detail required to assume quality checking/quality control
  • Customer focused and dedicated to providing excellent service 
  • Flexible, positive, and professional approach to work
