Your role as a Category Finance Business Partner will act as as trusted business partner to a member of the Offer & Sourcing (O&S) leadership team and their teams, specifically an O&S Category Director, leading the day to day finance activities, interpreting and presenting financial information to stakeholders and providing value add support & challenge.

The role will lead a team of two direct reports; a UK and a French based analyst. In addition to core deliverables the  Business Partner will also have the opportunity to take on ad-hoc project work working across the Offer & Sourcing finance team.

Responsibilities

  • Provide analysis and insight on Category Trading performance to key stakeholders (Category Director, O&S Divisional CEO, Range teams). Identify improvement actions.
  • Lead category financial planning, budgeting and forecasting ensuring effective coordination, review and challenge is completed within time plan and producing robust case
  • Manage process for analysis of existing and potential range profitability to support OEB (Own & Exclusive Brand) range design
  • Support Range teams with ad hoc financial analysis of existing Ranges to identify areas for Range development
  • Manage one or more Finance Analysts in support of the above activities
  • Lead development of Project financial appraisal including triple net costing.

Qualifications

  • CIMA/ACCA/ACA qualified
  • Commercial finance or similar business performance experience preferably within the retail or FMCG sector, with cross European or International working a strong advantage
  • Strong analytical & numerical skills with good attention to detail;  ability to analyse, evaluate and summarise large sets of data and provide the key conclusions and insights in a structured, clear and concise manner.
  • Strong business planning and forecasting experience.
  • Ability to pro-actively develop positive and highly effective working relationships, engaging key senior stakeholders as necessary to achieve desired outcomes
