The heart of this role lies in providing robust electrical support for planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and swift, efficient responses to breakdowns. As a key player in the maintenance team, the new engineer will work on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, fostering a collaborative partnership with the mechanical engineers on shift to ensure seamless operations. This structure offers a balanced work-life rhythm, allowing for concentrated work periods followed by ample time to recharge.

Candidates must bring a proven track record in medium to heavy manufacturing environments, showcasing their adeptness in navigating the unique challenges such industries present. A strong electrical background is essential, with hands-on experience in both PPM and emergency breakdown scenarios.

The role demands a meticulous approach to maintenance, underpinned by a solid understanding of electrical systems. A keen eye for detail and a proactive attitude towards problem-solving will be key assets. The ability to work harmoniously alongside mechanical counterparts is crucial, ensuring a cohesive unit that upholds the highest standards of maintenance and efficiency.

Duties of this Maintenance Engineers Role:
  • Provide an Electrical engineering service to the production team to achieve minimal down time
  • Proactive for carrying out planned maintenance duties
  • Insuring you are commercially aware of budgets to ensure there is the right amount of spares
  • Look at ways to continuously improve efficiencies and downtime
  • Collect and compile all data as requested
  • To encourage and motivate apprentices and offer assistance.
Qualifications and skills needed for this Maintenance Engineer.
  • Must hold a recognised Level 3 Engineering Qualification.
  • Experience within a fast paced environment
  • Experience in a medium or heavy industry is preferable.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines & under pressure.
