Maintenance Engineer Job Description

Maintenance Engineer Role Overview:

The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the full maintenance and repair of all machinery within both sites. This role reports to the Engineering Manager and assists senior management in their departments as agreed with the Engineering Manager for the company's needs and audit requirements.

Main Responsibilities:

Minimise production downtime for the business and provide solutions.
Work directly with the Engineering Manager, Operations Manager, and Technical Manager to advise and enact structural or engineering alterations to the company sites.
Oversee all contractors required at both sites and maintain a safe working environment during contractual work.
Develop and offer engineering solutions towards health & safety practices with the Technical Services Manager.
Become the direct point of contact for mechanical emergencies and have a planned maintenance system in place.
Promote and deliver training to production staff where machinery or technology is required for processes.
Update and manage the CMMS engineering report system.
Plan preventative maintenance.
Ensure all equipment has correct safety procedures in place.
Deliver audit assistance from an engineering and maintenance perspective.

Equipment Maintenance:

The Maintenance Engineer will work on the following equipment:
Flow Wrapper
Slitting Machines
Check Weighers
Metal Detectors
Label Printing Machines
Vertical Form Fill & Seal Machines
Conveyor Systems
Hydraulics
Bearings
Motors
Popcorn Popping and Seasoning Machines.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a degree or NVQ qualification in an engineering discipline or 2+ years of experience in an engineering role from the food manufacturing industry. They will be professional, driven, and possess a highly motivated attitude. Excellent management skills, people skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects are essential. The candidate will maintain excellent communication and representation to all clients, be able to conduct national and international travel, and possess a full, clean UK driving license. They will be punctual, smart, and convey the company culture and identity to a high standard. The candidate will be required to go the extra mile in line with workload capacity and willingness to assist the business. They will be flexible to attend a call out if needed.
