Summary
To compile an accurate tender cost for the electrical services which is attractive for the prospective client and potentially profitable for the company.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Read, understand and implement the Company Health and Safety Policy at all times.
Ensure that all activities under his/her control are undertaken in accordance with the QA system.
Maintain the highest level of commercial confidentiality in all aspects of employment.
Ensure that a non-adversarial, non-confrontational and professional approach is adopted at all times.
Select possible sub-contractors to approach on a commercial and technical basis.
Appraise technically and commercially quotations on receipt with assistance from Senior Estimator.
Select most favourable quotation and enter into tender with assistance from Senior Estimator.
Check with buying department who are most favourable companies to approach for prices.
Measure quantities from tender drawings.
Input quantities into computer for pricing.
Query tender documentation.
Maintain a professional appearance to the client.
Give client options to separate Swiftline Engineering Ltd. bid from our competition.
Bend specifications to achieve a more commercially attractive offer.
Summarise tender build up with use of computer programme.
List clarifications and notes applicable to the tender.
Present to management.
Compile spreadsheets of itemised costs.
Log all incoming tender enquiries and allocate with tender number.
Set up Estimate Files.
Download all tender documentation and sort folders as necessary.
Check receipt of all drawings/specifications.
Print drawings and photocopy documents as required by estimators.
Establish specified suppliers/sub-contractors from Project Specification under direction of the estimators.
Make contact with and send out enquiries to suppliers/sub-contractors.
Maintain contact with suppliers/sub-contractors and ensure quotations will be received in requested timescales.
Assist in preparation of Tender Submission documents.
Maintain and update Supply Chain Schedules as advised by estimators/Preconstruction Manager.
General housekeeping, including archiving etc of hard copy tender files.
