Your Responsibilities:
Perform periodic reviews of the Group's construction policies and procedural framework, providing recommendations where necessary to ensure these remain reflective of regulatory requirements and emerging good practice.
Maintain a close working relationship with the Group Construction department and Independent Quality Controllers (IQCs) in order to understand the Group's construction practices and their operational implementation.
Develop an annual risk-based construction audit plan to provide assurance on:
The effectiveness and consistency of the IQC inspection regime
The appropriateness of construction quality culture within each operating company
Other areas of focus as defined by key stakeholders including the Board and the Group Construction department
Deliver the annual construction audit plan, using a combination of desktop data reviews, structured interviews (remote and in person) and site inspections.
Produce detailed management reports and information on the construction audit plan for inclusion within the Director of Internal Audit's overall reporting to the Audit & Risk Committee
Support the Director of Internal Audit in handling whistleblowing investigations where allegations relate to construction activities.
Support the Director of Internal Audit in delivery of any other audits or investigations that relate to construction
Where required, provide advice, information and training in relation to audit findings
Required Skills:
Experience of working in an audit or assurance-based role, within the construction sector
Excellent organisational skills, being able to manage own time to meet targets and deadlines, and work with minimal supervision.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
A good understanding of Microsoft products, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint
