The Role:

We are looking for Third - Party Research Analyst to support the Broker Relationship Team who are responsible for servicing all asset classes within M&G on a six-month FTC basis. The team's primary responsibility is the acquisition of research and management of the processes supporting this. The role requires good communication, coordination and cooperation with multiple business areas within the organisation. This role provides the opportunity to work with experienced Portfolio managers and Business Managers.

Key Responsibilities for this role:

  • To manage the quarterly research review process including pre-preparation, liaising with fund management team and brokers and managing the subsequent invoicing process.
  • To proactively manage the Broker Relations shared mailbox
  • To request and collect data from the sell side counterparties and perform analysis as requested.
  • Respond to ad hoc questions from investment professionals
  • To provide support to the Head of Broker Relations
  • Build and maintain working relationships with key stakeholders from across the business, including fund management teams
  • Manage trial periods
  • Manage entitlement requests
  • Proactively maintain the Broker Relations systems e.g. with the latest contract renewal information.
  • Maintain Procedures and Policy relating to the research. Individuals will be required to produce and maintain how to guides for the core function of their role.
  • Understand the operational challenges faced within Front Office and work with senior management to improve key controls, ensuring risks are understood and processes are appropriately implemented.
  • Represent the Broker Relations Team on strategic or technical projects
  • Partner with investment teams and technology to streamline the processes associated with this role.

Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Good knowledge of the MIFID II rules relating to research
  • An understanding of investment products and the asset management industry.
  • Highly organised and able to thrive in a time-pressured role
  • Proactive and adaptable problem solver who is self-motivated
  • Able to work autonomously but collaborate both within and across teams
  • Proven numerical and analytical skills and rigorous attention to detail
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal, and able to liaise effectively with personnel at all levels.
  • Ability to simplify and streamline processes where necessary.
