We are currently seeking dedicated Behaviour Support Assistants to work in both SEN and mainstream schools across Waterlooville, Havant and Portsmouth. As a Behaviour Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing one-on-one and small group support to students with a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, Behavioural and Social, Emotional and Mental Health Difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement behaviour management strategies and interventions to support students with challenging behaviour.
  • Provide individualised support to students to help them regulate their emotions and develop positive coping mechanisms.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, and other professionals to create and implement individual behaviour plans.
  • Provide pastoral support.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment where all students feel supported and valued.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with young people with SEN and managing challenging behaviour is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, resilience, and a genuine passion for supporting the social, emotional, and academic development of students with SEN.
  • Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service or willing to apply.
