We are an 11–16 academy based in the market town of Kirkby-in-Ashfield, on the eastern edge of the Erewash Valley, which separates Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire. We became part of the Outwood Family of Schools in 2022 and are yet to be inspected by Ofsted.

All academies within the Outwood Family have gained the IQM Inclusive Schools Award, with 18 having Centre of Excellence status and one holding Flagship status.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising students during short-term teacher absences and assisting in preparing the learning environment and materials required. You will cover lessons of any subject using the cover work set by the teacher and set high expectations to motivate and challenge students whilst managing behaviour effectively and promoting a positive learning environment.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for organising the daily cover rota for absent staff and contacting teaching supply agencies to arrange supply staff. In periods where cover is not required, you will support in the classroom as directed.
The post would ideally suit an individual considering a teaching career, but applications are welcome from any candidate with integrity, imagination and energy for this rewarding role.
You must possess good communication and listening skills and ensure that respect and confidentiality are maintained at all times. This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated and driven individual; you must possess the skills and determination to make a significant difference to the lives of our students.
