As the HSQE Business Partner, you will report to the Head of Risk and Compliance and work as part of a small divisional HSQE team. The role will be focussed on providing HSQE support and guidance to the Operational Division within the business and will cover all aspects of HSQE work, including supporting accident investigations, developing, and improving systems.     You will be required to work at a national level to develop, lead and implement the HSQE Strategy and compliance requirements to embark in a positive safety culture program.    The HSQE BP will facilitate and support the national management team in all aspects of HSQE with a strong focus on applying the HSQE strategy, programmes and other initiatives, maintaining compliance requirements and all legal obligations. You will implement and drive initiatives using project methodologies leading to continuous improvement in HSQE performance in line with the business’s values.

Working Schedule: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. The role will be based at our Tilbury Processing Facility with some flexibility for home working as required. The role will at times require national travel to our processing sites and other offices. Key Responsibilities The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for HSQE on all Operations management support. Ability to strongly influence and support managers in their decision-making is key.   Business partnering in all areas of HSQE within the operational division.  Supporting line managers to build capability in all HSQE related matters using a variety of techniques, including but not exclusively, coaching and training to upskill ensuring the robust implementation of said processes.    Coaching and supporting managers in all aspects of HSQE.    Working with the HORC in designing effective and creative ways to communicate with workforce on a nationally dispersed, shift working business.      Demonstrable project management skills with a desire to get the job done and deliver quality.    Supporting the HORC to support the wider business as it designs, develops and strengthens the safety culture.    Key Duties:

  • The postholder will lead the sharing of best practice and learning from experience in their region and in conjunction with HSQE Team.
  • The post holder must display the ability to respond professionally, flexibly, positively and successfully to deliver the HSQE strategy methodology.
  • Maintain personal CPD programmes as required in accordance with professional qualifications. 
  • The post requires frequent travel to sites throughout the organisation.
§  The role is neither exhaustive nor inclusive and may be changed from time to time to meet the changing circumstances and demands.

§  Overall responsibility and compliance of the Company’s Health and Safety making sure staff are aware of the importance and follow safety protocol.

·         Assist with the wider business management teams the implementation of ISO standards across the division ·         Implementing practical and effective methods, both preventative and remedial for promoting Health and Safety and safe working practices. ·         Conduct and revise appropriate training within the division as required.  ·         Develop and improve the management of HSQE within the business.  ·         Work with Operations division to improve processes and systems.  ·         Be proactive in organising HSQE work activities and provide support to the business as needed. ·         Provide specific advise/support on accident/incident investigations ensuring that we complete diligent root cause analysis. ·         Resolving and/or escalating all HSQE issues in a timely manner. ·         Complete HSQE inspections/Audits within the division and across the wider business, including supporting spot check vehicle audits and security aspects around the fleet. ·         Attend specific functional meetings ensuring that HSQE has suitable focus.  ·         Support the HORC with monthly RES communications/engagement programs. ·         Bring to the attention of the Head of Risk and Compliance any changes in legislation  ·         Support the development of specific reporting parameters within the operations division improving. ·          The HSQE Business partner is a role model who needs to "walk the talk", act consistently according to our principles & values and also expect the same from others. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Essential
  • Nebosh General Cert (or equivalent) 
  • IOSH membership (minimum Technical) 
  • Full driving licence 
Desirable 
  • Health and Safety Diploma 
  • Minimum 5yrs Experience in HSQE 
  • Train the trainer (Equivalent Experience) 
  • Good understanding of application of the business tools for HSQE management including Strategy Programmes, Lessons Learn etc).
