As an Auditor in Shell Internal Audit & investigations (SIAI), you will conduct high-impact audits and advisory reviews, partnering with varied parts of Shell to provide insight and learning - helping strengthen management of risk within our company.
SIAI is a great place to push your career to the next level - we offer:

- challenging project work with in-role development opportunities
- opportunities to lead high impact presentations, developing verbal, written and data & analytics skills
Where do you fit in?

SIAI provides independent, courageous and actionable insights from our work (audits, advisories, investigations) to support learning and improvement at all levels of Shell. By doing so, we support sustainable delivery of Shell's Powering Progress and ET24 objectives, providing insight to both Business leaders and the Board.

SIAI conducts work through a 'pool' of auditors, whereby business/functional experts and career auditors form short-term teams and are scheduled to carry out audits/reviews, working with senior Business stakeholders.

SIAI's working culture is built upon collaboration and continuous improvement in which open and constructive feedback to each other is key. We actively leverage DE&I to build rapidly forming and effective teams of diverse thinkers, beliefs and skillsets. No two engagements are ever alike and everyone's voice is heard.

What's the role?
You will lead and/or participate as a team member in engagements (audits and advisory reviews), including complex engagements. Your accountabilities will include:
- When Lead Auditor* engage senior stakeholders, develop Terms of References, commission data analytics and supervise a team to deliver an engagement scope, including overall accountability for quality of the engagement and associated report
- Analyse data from a variety of sources (verbal, documentary, electronic systems)
- Assess whether management is 'in control' by testing the effectiveness of specific risk management controls
- Substantiate with evidence and record your findings, in line with SIAI methodologies
- Coach other engagement team members and provide discipline expertise /SME
- Deliver key messages from engagements to senior management
- Proactively provide feedback to engagement team members to support their development and improvement
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve SIAI methodologies and ways of working

You will also:
- Participate in or lead a SIAI Natural Risk Team (community of practice) relevant to your role
- Contribute, as requested, to SIAI improvement workstreams, projects and planning
- Conduct reviews of engagements to improve SIAI performance

* Subject to SIAI business need and initial and ongoing SIAI Lead Auditor accreditation

This role is broadcast with a Job Family of Maintenance - Asset Management System (AMS) experience preferred but other engineering related backgrounds (e.g. maintenance, integrity, technical safety) will be considered.

Additionally, applicants will require:
- Integrity and the ability to maintain an impartial and unbiased attitude
- Capacity to grasp concepts quickly, rapidly understand unfamiliar business areas, and identify risks and controls
- Exceptional interpersonal and team working skills, including the ability to establish effective working relationships in dynamic engagement teams and virtual environments
- Courage to intervene, challenge the status quo and withstand pressure from senior stakeholders
- Capacity to provide insightful analysis based on evidence and data analytics
- Self-motivation, organisation, adaptability and ability to deliver work in short/fixed timeframes
- Credible and impactful communication style with senior stakeholders (verbal and written)
- Willingness to participate in meetings outside of normal business hours if required
- Willingness to undertake business travel for engagements, typically between 25% and 50% of time. SIAI seeks to minimise travel to that essential for conducting engagements as we manage cost, work life balance and carbon footprint. SIAI operates a fixed annual schedule (currently nine audit blocks), with travel periods generally known in advance and one block designated for taking annual leave. If circumstances prevent an employee from undertaking business travel for a period of time, flexible working arrangements requiring no travel may be possible, subject to line manager approval.

Applicants appointed to this role from skill pools other than Internal Audit, are expected to maintain contact with their Skill Pool Manager and business/function regarding next opportunities after their assignment in SIAI.

Any SBO not listed as a Primary or Secondary location above will also be considered as a location to perform this role.
