The Position

Responsible for the day to day management of a specified area, overseeing a group of team leaders and team members to ensure efficient and effective delivery of business targets including those related to output, quality, cost, compliance, health and safety and people.

  • Role model exemplary safety standards and drive and support a culture of zero tolerance to unsafe practices
  • Manage the manufacturing team under your control including but not limited to managing absence and return to work protocols; carrying out first stage disciplinaries; inducting new team members; delivering product and process training; and controlling the area skills matrix
  • Communicate effectively: deliver regular team briefings and tool box talks; and promote the company values; positive corporate culture and company messages as required.
  • Maintain area visual management to ensure targets, achievement and standards are communicated
  • Motivate and engage your team to deliver all targets
  • Monitor delivery against production targets to ensure hourly, daily and weekly targets are met.
  • Plan, manage resources, problem solve and adjust plans throughout the week to ensure target delivery
  • Support preparations for external ISO Audits through maintaining all documentation and records

Skills & Requirements of a Production Manager

The postholder will have previous, similar experience and success in people management. Exceptional operational knowledge, Is data driven and has great attention to detail, curious, seeking improvements in process and is confident with problem solving using a range of techniques.
