London South Bank University are excited to be recruiting for the post of Psychology Technician within our Technical Support Services division (TSS).

As a key member of the technical team you will have the opportunity to work in close collaboration with the technical services Manager to maintain and develop the currency of the Psychology facility and ensure its smooth running and operational compliance.

The psychology laboratories have a steady stream of undergraduate and postgraduate students who are engaged in a wide variety of investigative studies. A significant part of this work involves the development of bespoke experiments utilising the specialist resources in the labs. The purpose of this post is assisting the technician in this area with day-to-day operation, providing technical support to the wider range of users and undertaking duties ranging from lab/facility booking and scheduling, assisting with enquiries through to the presentation and/or demonstration of key technologies.

About You:
We are looking to hear from candidates who have the following skills/experience:

  • A degree or equivalent educational / professional background in a relevant Psychology based discipline.
  • Practical working knowledge and understanding of the use of specialist psychology related hardware/software as well as Microsoft Office Applications (E).
  • Proven ability in providing excellent technical support and/or technical demonstrations in either a related higher education or professional environment (E).
