Job Description SummaryThe Rotorcraft IVHM team requires a Rotorcraft Engineer (Systems) with responsibility for providing vertical lift Subject Matter Expert supporting the technology development, implementation and support of its next generation vibration and health monitoring systems. The Systems Engineer will develop common system architectures, supporting New Product Introduction full lifecycle, and demonstrate accountability for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role, you will contribute to the overall business strategy and provide technical systems development in the Health and Usage Monitoring product domains.

MUST be comfortable engaging with Global teams and clients daily. You will have the flexibility to work Hybrid/Remote up to 4 days a week unless projects/meetings require an in-office presence in Southampton, UK.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Provide vertical lift systems knowledge support to other functions within the Vertical Lift and Vehicle Health Monitoring arena

  • Provide SME support to the Rotor Track and Balance Design Authority

  • Contribute to the safe design of new products in our portfolio

  • Collaborate with Customers to understand and develop their requirements

  • Develop and validate requirements for new and existing product baselines

  • Define, influence and execute on vehicle integration strategy to test product is fit for purpose

  • Provide Flight Test Programme Test Lead, to act as GE Lead Flight Test Engineer

  • Work in our engineering laboratories running verification and integration tests on real hardware

  • Generate the evidence needed by Customers and Certification Authorities to verify certification basis and prove the product is safe to fly

  • Engage, collaborate, and integrate with adjacent functions to provide the systems view so that all partiesâ needs are met

  • Participate in technical and programme reviews, often with the end customer

  • Deliver on quality, schedule and cost

  • Have a passion for continuous improvement and innovation

  • Take ownership, be accountable, and be proud of the work you are performing

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college or equivalent knowledge and experience such as apprentice in aerospace engineering or UK military

  • Equivalent relevant experience in Rotorcraft engineering positions]

Desired Characteristics

  • Comprehensive Airframe/Engines experience in Rotorcraft Aviation engineering, operations and maintenance

  • Extensive knowledge and experience of Rotor Track and Balance techniques

  • Extensive knowledge and experience operating rotorcraft currently fitted with HUMS

  • Knowledge and experience integrating Cockpit Voice, Flight Data Recorder and Health & Usage Monitoring Systems

  • Knowledge of Systems Engineering Process

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, guide and influence teams & business leaders

  • Demonstrated ability to analyse and resolve challenging technical problems

  • Knowledge and experience in Avionics Integration and associated certification requirements

  • Additional experience in the electronics industry would be a bonus
