Social Workers - Adult Care East Team

Are you an ambitious, diligent and hardworking Social Worker. Are you interested in working in a team, committed to providing an exceptional and integral service to the community of Eastern Lincolnshire, where you can make a real difference? If so, then The Adult Frailty East Area Teams are looking for you.

We have permanent full-time posts for:

  • Newly qualified Social Workers (Level 1), who we will support through ASYE.
  • Experienced Social Workers (Level 1).
  • Senior/ Supervising Social Workers (Level 2).

Our current vacancies are in; the famous seaside town of Skegness, the historic multi-cultural market town of Boston and the Louth/Market Rasen teams which are co located in the beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds.

About the role

Lincolnshire County Council's adult care services are leading the way, we quite literally have the highest CQC score in the country (for a County Council), and we are committed to improving our high standards.

The post of Social Worker in Lincolnshire County Council's Adult Care Services is a busy and varied position, which requires partnership working with other agencies across the Health, Housing, and the Voluntary Sector.

The teams work with adults aged 18+, which gives an opportunity to really see the positive impact our Adult Care Teams make to the lives of others.

We believe that collaborative working builds strength in individuals and communities. In turn this creates better outcomes and futures for people.

We carry out strengths-based Adult Needs Assessments and Reviews in line with the Care Act 2014, focusing on what the person can do rather than their limitations.

Supporting our staff

You will find a warm welcome in our local adult care teams. We are all about supporting each other to learn and grow. We are very proud of how we manage complex situations; we come together and find solutions.

We treat everyone with respect and understanding. We are very open, and this creates an "ask anything" culture. We like to support our teammates and provide a supportive and nurturing environment where staff are encouraged to succeed in all that they do.

We are looking for new team members to be a part of something quite special and can't wait to meet you.

About You

The role of a Social Work can be demanding, and it is important that we recruit the right people; therefore, you must be motivated, confident, enthusiastic and resilient.

You will need to be competent in assessing mental capacity, recognising, and acting on safeguarding concerns and working with colleagues across the health and social care sector.

The following skills and qualities are also essential:

  • Social Work qualified and registered (or very soon to be).
  • Dynamism, flexibility, autonomy and good time management.
  • Positivity; a can-do attitude, and a willingness to learn.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Good IT skills; as assessments are recorded electronically.
  • Good listener, with active listening skills.
  • Creative-thinking and good problem-solving skills.
  • Good understanding of the Care Act 2014, The Mental Capacity Act 2005 and associated Social Care Legislation.

This is not an exhaustive list; we highly recommend that you study the attached Job Descriptions and Person Specification within.

About Our Offer

We value our staff and want to support you to grow in skills and knowledge. We have an excellent training package, and we support hybrid working.

There are regular team meetings, and opportunities to get together either face to face or virtually for peer support and to help maintain your wellbeing. We will help you learn new skills, such as having more co-productive conversations, which will not only aid you in the work you do but also in everyday life.

We want you to enjoy your work and your development, working with you to reach your full potential.

Along with a competitive salary we are offering:

  • A Contributory pension
  • Comprehensive benefits package including excellent discount schemes and cycle to work
  • Civil service sports council membership
  • Flexible working policies
  • Career progression opportunities
  • A generous annual leave entitlement plus the option to buy more
