SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant

Location: South Shields

Salary: £75-110 per day

Start Date: Immediately

Are you a recent graduate with a passion for supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? GSL Education Newcastle branch have an exciting opportunity for a SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a thriving school in South Shields. This role is perfect for someone looking to make a difference in the lives of students, helping them achieve their potential in a supportive and inclusive environment.

As a SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will be working with students on a 1:1 basis or in small groups, assisting them with their academic and personal development. This is a fantastic opportunity for graduates who are looking to gain experience in a school setting and work closely with SEN students.

Responsibilities Of a SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant

Support students with special educational needs (SEN) in the classroom and during extracurricular activitiesAssist the teacher in creating an inclusive and engaging learning environmentWork 1:1 or in small groups with students who have varying needsHelp implement individual learning plans tailored to each student’s requirementsEncourage and promote positive behaviour and social interaction among studentsProvide feedback to the teacher on student progress and any concerns

Requirements For a SEN Graduate Teaching Assistant

A degree in Education, Psychology, or a related fieldA strong desire to support students with SENExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsPatience, empathy, and a proactive approach to learningAn understanding of the challenges students with special educational needs (SEN) may facePrevious experience working with children (preferred but not essential)
