The Role:

As the Infrastructure Technical Lead, you will be the Technical Lead for the day to day running and operation of infrastructure operations of all servers, storage and Data Centre Services across the New Look estate either on-premises or cloud (corporate/office related services) and support our wider cloud transformation activities.

Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for the day- to- day management of the M365 cloud platform and all elements of this, other than security elements.

You will be responsible for the day to day running of the environment to support the New Look EUC device estate (MECM and Intune), ensuring that devices can be provisioned as required, are updated according to policies, and that software can be installed when needed.

You will be responsible for the day to day running and operation of services including and not limited to Active Directory, Entra AD, DNS, Remote Access (AOVPN and RSA), Citrix, AD Manager Plus, Enterprise SQL Servers, MoveIT Automation and FTP, Backup, Monitoring,

You will support a team of engineers on different sites providing coaching skills and being the "go to" Technical Resource for any queries / escalations.

You will work closely with other IT teams including Technical Planning and Delivery to support the strategic planning and delivery of infrastructure related activity. You will provide resource from the team to support delivery activities for business related project implementation.

Provide 2nd and 3rd line operational support for infrastructure operational services.

You will take the technical lead on major incidents and problem management activity, co-ordinating technical activity within the required resolver teams.

You will lead the process of impact assessing and planning server and storage changes and service improvements and will then implement or oversee technical implementation, test and monitor required changes in line with agreed plans.

Responsible for technical support and guidance to end-users and the IT support team. Resolving IT infrastructure-related incidents, service requests and problems in a timely and efficient manner in line with Business requirements. Liaising with 3rd Parties where appropriate.

Responsible for IT infrastructure-related problem diagnosis, implementing problem resolution or prevention measures as appropriate. This is to include audit, monitoring, capacity management, planning, security, patching etc.

Responsible for maintaining IT infrastructure support technical documentation and ensuring the Team also provide accurate, relevant documents in a timely manner.

Ensuring capacity, availability, security and service support requirements are considered in all IT infrastructure changes and that all changes meet the agreed service acceptance criteria.

Ensuring Asset and Configuration Management principles, processes and procedures are applied.

You will be considered as a subject matter expert on have working knowledge of core technologies including Cloud (Azure), Microsoft Server/Workstation, Storage/Backup (IBM/Cohesity), Management Services (SCOM, SCCM), Virtual (Azure Stack HCI, VMware), Databases (SQL), Microsoft 365 (Teams, Email, In-Tune, One-Drive, SharePoint).

Retail industry / systems such as POS would be advantageous.

You will support the Network, Cloud and Infrastructure Manager as required to assist with Coaching and Developing the wider Infrastructure Team and enhancing their skill sets.

Working with project teams to review and impact assess new business requirements.

Contributing to technical aspects of key change documentation such as business requirements, change impact assessments, change implementation plans, change tickets, change rollout plans etc.

Ensuring capacity, availability, security and service support requirements are considered in all infrastructure related changes.

Manage and report risks into the Network, Cloud and Infrastructure Manager

Implementing, testing and monitoring required infrastructure changes in line with change implementation plans

Ensuring infrastructure changes meet the agreed service acceptance criteria.

Ensuring Asset and Configuration Management principles, processes and procedures are applied.

Oversee and lead the asset management process, ensuring it's followed by the whole team, in addition to performing regular audits and ensuring all devices are managed and tracked.

Oversee system monitoring and management tools and capabilities, ensuring that systems are managed and KPIs can be met for patching.

About You:

Degree in IT or related business topic (desirable)

Experience as an End User Compute or 2nd Line Engineer

ITIL Foundation Certificate

Microsoft MCP - Installing & Configuring Windows 10

Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) (desirable)

Experience with Microsoft 365 (essential)

Experience with Microsoft Exchange & Email Filtering

Experience with Active Directory Policy (Group Policy) Administration (desirable)

Experience with Entra AD

Experience with Enterprise Anti-Virus solutions (desirable)

Experience with SCCM (Config Manager) & Endpoint Manager (Intune) (desirable)

Experience of packaging applications and utilities for use with SCCM.

Experience of MacOS & JAMF management tools (optional)

Knowledge of core technologies including Cloud (Azure), Microsoft Server/Workstation, Storage/Backup (IBM/Cohesity), Management Services (SCOM, SCCM), Virtual (Azure Stack HCI, VMware), Databases (SQL), Microsoft 365 (Teams, Email, In-Tune, One-Drive, SharePoint).

Experience with Remote Access (AOVPN and RSA), Citrix, AD Manager Plus, Enterprise SQL Servers, MoveIT Automation and FTP, Backup, Monitoring
