The Chief Risk Office function has Group-wide responsibility for the management and control of all credit, market, operational, enterprise and liquidity risks and has the responsibility of continual development of methods for risk measurement, frameworks and creating a Bank wide strong risk culture. Deutsche Bank has been named Bank Risk Manager of the Year by the leading publication risk.net for the second consecutive year (2020 & 2021).

You will have a pivotal role in second line of defence (2LOD) Non-Financial Risk Management (NFRM) and you will play a key role in ensuring that the TPRM maintains and continues to strengthen oversight across a broad range of topics. This is an exciting time to join us while we are in the process of delivering fundamental improvements across Third Party Risk Management.

Your key responsibilities

  • Responsible for the management, execution, and evolution of a core governance forum, ensuring that we use this forum to continue to provide and strengthen oversight across TPRM

  • Ensure that we understand and satisfy internal expectations and timeframes, with a strong focus on (but not limited to) Findings Management and reporting to various boards/risk committees

  • Responsible for oversight of the TPRM book of work (which is fundamental to communicating our value proposition) and own the successful completion of certain activities

  • Provide constructive challenge/validation such as on 1st Line Controls, risk and control assessments results and control initiatives. Participate in risk identification and mitigation processes

  • Provide extensive support to enable a successful transition to a new tool and operating model

Your skills and experience

  • Prior experience of working in a 2LOD team, a robust understanding of NFRM principles and practices

  • Confident and articulate with excellent communication skills, comfortable presenting to stakeholder audiences across different businesses

  • Calm under pressure, able to juggle complex priorities to meet immediate and unpredictable deadlines while also ensuring that longer-term projects are completed

  • Personally accountable for results and the ability to work independently and triage questions and issues, make decisions along with judgment to escalate problems appropriately

  • TPRM, including an understanding of the processes and controls to manage risk
