We are looking for a Lecturer in Greek.

The Opportunity:

The School of History, Classics and Archaeology at the University of Edinburgh is pleased to invite applications for five-year Lectureship in Greek, within the Department of Classics. The candidate will be required to teach Ancient Greek language at all levels, to develop and teach specialised modules in Ancient Greek literature for advanced undergraduate as well as postgraduate students, and to contribute to doctoral supervision. The starting date is 1 September 2024.

Your skills and attributes for success: 

• Research expertise in Ancient Greek language and literature. 
• Evidence of experience in teaching, indicative of commitment to and potential for excellence in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in Ancient Greek language and literature. 
• Evidence of experience in teaching courses on key authors of ancient Greek literature commonly studied at undergraduate level. 
• Portfolio of excellent research, including recent or forthcoming publications, commensurate with career stage. 
• Evidence of potential or experience of attracting external funding, commensurate with career stage. 
• An understanding of and demonstrable commitment to promoting and embedding equality, diversity and inclusion principles and practices.

£48,350 to £59,421. Grade UE08, per annum
