Hours: 37 hours per week, Term Time only

Salary: £32, 267 per annum pro rata

Senior Safeguarding Officer The Role:


We are searching for a Senior Safeguarding Officer to join our passionate and highly skilled team in Safeguarding

As a Senior Safeguarding Officer, you will work directly with students to provide pastoral support and develop personal resilience strategies. You will act as a Deputy to the Safeguarding Manager and help provide support to the function of the Designated Teacher. You will help provide support to the Safeguarding Coordinators and provide guidance to students with short, intensive interventions to ably deal with day to day issues and long term.

Senior Safeguarding Officer - Key Responsibilities:

- Provide pastoral support to an identified caseload of students

- Act as a member senior member of the Safeguarding Team deputising for the Safeguarding Manager when required

- Maintain records on students and activities undertaken

- Support staff by acting as one of the primary contact points for staff who have concerns about students

- Provide PEP meeting support to the Personal Progression Officer (Designated Teacher)

- Ensure lanyards and ID badges are used appropriately to manage the access of people onsite

- Allocate safeguarding referrals to members of the safeguarding team and support the safeguarding officers and safeguarding Coordinators

Senior Safeguarding Officer Essential Applicant Criteria:

To apply for this role, you will need:

- A minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Safeguarding

- Experience working in Safeguarding, Child Protection, Youth Work/Justice, Social Services or Counselling

- Knowledge of referral systems

- High standards of communication and organisation
