What you will be doing

As our Graduate Electrical Engineer, you will be part of our team developing solutions to complex technical questions and in-service upgrades for Submarine platforms within the Engineering Project Group. You will be working across the breadth of the engineering design lifecycle to support the current projects, such as our Dreadnought class and Astute class submarines, and work on the future bidding activity of the department. You will be assisting in providing professional engineering services to meet the future operational needs of naval platforms, the Submarine business, and customer programmes. Duties and Responsibilities

  • Play a pivotal part in suggestions surrounding power engineering and electronic product content, optimizing hardware and software design concepts.
  • Develop sophisticated design processes.
  • Test complex products.
  • Maintain our existing systems and develop new technologies.
  • Assessment of equipment and fault diagnosis (covering equipment ranging from smaller electronics to large power distribution equipment such as motors, batteries, and variable speed drives.)
  • Conducting laboratory tests and capturing data, data analysis, and the preparation of technical reports for new technology and components. Skills

    As a minimum requirement, you’ll need to have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2.2 in your Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, electrically biased Marine engineering, or electrically biased Physics. Opportunities for Growth and Development

    On commencement of employment, you will be paid a one-off non-consolidated lump sum payment of £2,000 (the “Welcome Payment”).
