They are looking for a Volume Forecasting Performance Analyst to join their team and support key operations through data-driven forecasting and performance analysis.Role Overview:The Volume Forecasting Performance Analyst will play a crucial role in forecasting energy demand and analyzing volume performance to support operational planning and decision-making. This role will work closely with the forecasting, operations, and trading teams to ensure the accuracy of volume predictions and optimize energy resource management.Key Responsibilities:Forecasting: Develop and maintain short-term and long-term energy demand forecasts using historical data, weather patterns, market trends, and other relevant factors. Performance Analysis: Analyze forecasting accuracy, identify deviations, and provide insights to improve the forecasting models and methodologies. Data Management: Work with large datasets to extract insights, ensuring data quality and consistency in forecasting models. Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, including operations, trading, and risk management, to support energy planning and trading strategies. Reporting: Prepare and present forecasting performance reports for key stakeholders, highlighting trends, risks, and potential improvements. Model Improvement: Continuously refine and enhance forecasting models to improve accuracy and adapt to changing market conditions and new data inputs. Scenario Analysis: Conduct scenario analysis to model the impact of different variables, such as weather, market conditions, and supply/demand fluctuations, on energy volumes.Qualifications and Skills:A degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or a related field. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in data analysis and forecasting. Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, Python, R, or similar software. Knowledge of energy markets and volume forecasting is a plus but not required. Ability to communicate complex data insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
