Job Title: Volume Forecasting Performance Analyst

Our client, a leading energy company, is seeking a skilled Volume Forecasting Performance Analyst to join their team. As a key member of the Energy Operations department, you will play a crucial role in forecasting energy demand and analyzing volume performance to support operational planning and decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain short-term and long-term energy demand forecasts using historical data, weather patterns, market trends, and other relevant factors.
  • Analyze forecasting accuracy, identify deviations, and provide insights to improve the forecasting models and methodologies.
  • Work with large datasets to extract insights, ensuring data quality and consistency in forecasting models.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including operations, trading, and risk management, to support energy planning and trading strategies.
  • Prepare and present forecasting performance reports for key stakeholders, highlighting trends, risks, and potential improvements.
  • Continuously refine and enhance forecasting models to improve accuracy and adapt to changing market conditions and new data inputs.
  • Conduct scenario analysis to model the impact of different variables, such as weather, market conditions, and supply/demand fluctuations, on energy volumes.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in data analysis and forecasting.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, Python, R, or similar software.
  • Ability to communicate complex data insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
