You will execute warehouse operations in term of service, cost, health and safety, quality, food defense, sustainability, legal requirements and policies compliance. You will also work collaboratively with key internal and external (third-party logistics vendors) business partners to ensure effective management, timely solutions and execution. You will also be responsible for activities such as inventory management (iDoc management, stock reconciliation), interfaces monitoring, track and trace, claims management, invoice management, compliance execution (HSE, quality, risk management), tenders support, third-party performance management, pallets management.

How you will contribute

The Warehouse Team Manager (Nights) in Minworth will require the individual to:

  • Leading a team of Shift Coordinators, Planning Coordinators and Multi-Skilled Operatives in their daily workload
  • Develop and support the Shift Coordinators to ensure they have the skills and confidence to step in and cover when needed
  • Manage an employee training plan that enables the most effective team to be deployed every day to manage the pallet throughput in the most efficient manner.
  • Support continuous improvement, leading and participating in working parties to involve and engage staff, with an aim to increase efficiency and reduce costs. Have full involvement in their implementation and success.
  • Extract, analyse and use performance data to recognise those employees who are achieving the site KPI's, and to build a plan to support those employees who are not achieving the KPI's. This may involve stakeholder management with HR, OH, QEHS and it is the job holders responsibility to arrange the necessary reviews and meetings.
  • Hold monthly performance reviews with team members and document the outcome, including any follow up actions
  • Analyse performance information to create a MI deck each month that is presented to the Operations Manager. It should clearly identify the key issues, achievements and areas for improvement
  • Communicate effectively with team members, senior managers and any other stakeholders using all available mediums regarding any issues that may arise within the warehouse.
  • Ensure high standards of hygiene, housekeeping and adherence to safe systems of work at all times
  • Drive awareness and familiarity with all processes and procedures on site including QEHS, HR and R&M
  • Carry out thorough investigations and root cause analysis using defined processes and techniques on all failures - this relates to service, quality, safety and any other issues that result in loss, damage or harm to employees or assets
  • Ensure that a high standard of Health & Safety is adhered within the working environment
  • Lead the investigation or coordination of any incident that happens outside of normal management cover.

The successful candidate for the Warehouse Team Manager (Nights) position will have the below skills and experiences:

  • The ability to maintain very high levels of accuracy in the processing and provision of management information
  • Have a good working knowledge within a Warehouse and Logistics operation
  • Good knowledge and experience of using Warehouse Management Systems
  • Good knowledge of Health & Safety requirements.
  • Experience of performance management across large numbers of employees.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good problem-solving skills
