Full-Time /Part-Time - Working close to home, no experience is required

Do you like working in an active outdoor role? Do you want to take control of your schedule and work flexibly? If the answer is yes, then this could be the role for you.

As a Water Meter Reader you will be responsible for collecting data from water meters for both commercial and

residential properties. You will update meter reads accurately throughout the day on your handheld device, also entering the

details on a handheld device at each location and providing excellent customer service.

What we offer:

  • 12.17 - 13.16 per hour basic pay.
  • Weekly Hours 20, 40, 42 or 45 hours a week, with flexible start / finish times between 8am - 8pm.
  • 25,000 to 30,000 a year average earnings with additional bonuses on average (Apply online only) monthly.
  • Hours of work mostly will be Monday - Friday 8am -8pm. (occasionally Saturday)
  • Weekly payment.
  • Overtime rates ( 15 - 16) - at manager's discretion.
  • Business expenses reimbursed.
  • Company pension enrolment.
  • No previous experience required.
  • Progression and promotion opportunities for higher earning
  • Up to 28 days holiday per year.
  • Full uniform and PPE provided.
  • Company car.
  • Full training will be provided.

What will you need:

  • Full UK Driving Licence (Minimum 1 year, maximum 6 points)
  • Physically fit: expect to walk up to 4 -6 miles per day, climbing stairs and crouching, bending in tight spaces, (may get dirty sometimes when reaching outside water meter readers)
  • Happy to work in all weather conditions.
  • Clear DBS check (no unspent criminal convictions)
  • Credit Report check (no county court judgements, IVA, debt relief orders recorded for the last 6 years)
  • Previous Customer Service experience (preferred not essential)

Duties:

  • Retrieving data from domestic, commercial, and industrial sites for Water Meters, full training will be given.
  • Mainly residential properties and meters can be inside and outside.
  • Role involves taking meter reads and some aspects of survey taking. Knocking on residential customers doors to gather information on how long they have lived at property and update handheld. Good customer experience essential as customer facing.
  • The meters read externally, the manhole will be no bigger than a plate but will involve bending and lifting.
  • Training will be inhouse training by the managers, buddy up with a manager and can last up to 2 weeks. Manual handling training will also be conducted.
  • Friendly personality with a professional approach to work.
  • Adhering to Health and Safety guidelines at all times.
