Head of Enterprise Architecture

 

Life on the team

As Head of Enterprise Architecture you will have direct responsibility for the Enterprise & Business Enterprise Architects and you will also build and maintain strong business and IT relationships in order to support effective decision making, helping to enable priorities including revenue growth, driving cost efficiency, minimising risks and leading innovation

 

What you’ll do

 

Business Strategy Alignment & Stakeholder Management

  • Develop the business understanding and influence the business strategy of the organisation. They play a crucial role in aligning technology decisions with business goals
  • They lead the development of an enterprise architecture strategy that supports and enables the overall business strategy
  • Develop trusted relationships across key departmental stakeholders, within the broader Computacenter Business areas
  • Develop trusted relationships within Group IS, across all functional areas
  • Developing, implementing and managing a strategic IT Roadmap that effectively aligns with the business strategy and objectives

Setting the Enterprise Architectural Direction

  • Leading the creation and onward evolution of an Enterprise Architecture function including the co-ordination and balance of business, information, technology, application & security perspectives
  • Responsible for defining the organisations architectural direction, this involves creating a vision for how technology and systems should evolve. They will work with a team of ‘architects’ to help shape this vision
  • To ensure that the enterprise architecture (as much as possible) supports future growth, flexibility and scalability including regularly reviewed business aspirations

Communication and Leadership

  • Direct reports and members of the broader architecture team will include enterprise architects, business enterprise architects, solution architects, data architects, security architects & technical architects
  • Chairs the Enterprise Architecture Group (EAG) bi-monthly governance meeting
  • Effective communication of the value of enterprise architecture and it’s portfolio of services to help support & enable the respective business areas
  • Constantly challenging the ‘art of the possible’ and advocate for innovation that can lead to an increase in business value
  • They listen to insights from people within the organisation that helps to build a combined business vision
  • Regular meetings involve discussions with sponsors, alignment with delivery teams and evaluating new business and technology opportunities

What you’ll need

  • Previous experience as a successful enterprise architect highly desirable
  • A track record of leading high-performance teams toward the successful attainment of architecture delivering sustainable business value
  • Experience in IT disciplines (such as technical architecture, solution architecture, data / information analysis, business capability management), business strategic planning)
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, teamwork, facilitation and negotiation
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of all components of a enterprise architecture’; business strategy, applications, technology & information (data)
  • Proven ability to collaborate, influence and negotiate to all levels of the organisation 
  • Structure and well-organised
  • Energetic and self-motivated
  • Ability to understand the political climate of an organisation and importantly how to navigate the politics to an effective set of outcomes
  • Persistence & tenacity
