Clerk to the Academy Council
We are recruiting enthusiastic, self-motivated individuals to join our Governance Team to work with schools in the Central Beds area, as clerk to the local governing body of Stratton Secondary School, in the first instance.
This is the perfect position for someone seeking a flexible role that allows them to work at times that suit them, with the opportunity to fit the job around their other life commitments. The position is part-time during school term times with scheduled meetings at your assigned schools held most often either late afternoon or early evening. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn new skills, to understand more about the educational system and to become a valued and integral member of a school’s governing body. Each academy has an Academy Council to provide local governance and we employ clerks to support one or more of these committees.
There will also be ad-hoc assignment opportunities, such as covering one-off meetings, meaning that you have the option to increase your hours and earnings during key times of the academic year. The role is mainly home-based with a requirement to attend schools for onsite meetings. Knowledge of school governance would be an advantage; however, this is not essential.
