The role:

Commercial and Contracts Manager - Band 2

Accountable for the Line Maintenance Commercial, Planning, Materials and Change Programme in Line with Operational requirements.

 What you'll do:

  • Part of the Line Maintenance leadership team, helping to set strategic direction and deliver the Maintenance Business Plan across all the businesses.
  • Owns and delivers the Maintenance commercial strategy to deliver value to each operating business unit across maintenance and meets stretching revenue targets.
  • Utilises market and industry data to ensure Maintenance provides a competitive product to its customers.
  • Develop, implement, and continually improve commercial plans to meet company goals and contractual obligations.
  • Accountable for leading commercial negotiations and contract scope with new and existing clients and suppliers, identifying new opportunities for revenue growth and improving cost/delivery.
  • Accountable for the effective detailed review and implementation of contracts across Maintenance to ensure adherence to agreed performance targets.
  • Accountable for delivering a Supplier Performance framework that ensures maximum value from suppler contracts through structured reviews, appraisals, and supplier feedback, celebrating success.
  • Maintain and ensure the accuracy of the CRM, with sound knowledge of prospects and development strategies, including identifying potential commercial opportunities.

  • Resilient and can find ways of delivering despite blockers or challenges.
  • Able to prioritise when faced with multiple issues flexing resource accordingly.
  • Able to take the lead in a complex and ambiguous environment and perform effectively.
  • Experienced in contractual terms conditions and language.

Your experience:

  • Experience of planning, developing, and implementing contracts across a number of disciplines
  • Experience of presenting and negotiating sales/supplier contract to ensure best value.
  • Extensive Supplier Management experience across a number of disciplines
  • Experience of leading commercial teams to achieve stretching revenue targets.
  • Knowledge of the MRO marketplace and services including Line Maintenance and Component Overhaul
  • Education to Level 4 (e.g. HNC, HND, FD) or educational equivalent
  • Demonstrable experience of delivering pre and post contract activity with a solution orientated approach to mitigate contractual risks.
  • Strong knowledge of standard form contracts such as NEC / PEC is desirable.
