Job Purpose:

The postholder will be of a team of peripatetic staff providing support to individuals and groups of people with a learning disability living in homes of their own or with their families.

Principal Accountabilities And Responsibilities:

To provide general support as part of a team, liaising with other services as necessary.

To maintain at all times, a relationship with individuals lining in homes of their own, which recognises their rights as equal citizens and adults and to assist in the exercise of those rights in all relevant situations and circumstances.

Assist and advise individuals in maintaining age and culture appropriate activity and appearance at all times.

Participate in a system of record keep include, in particular, records of expenditure whenever appropriate and in accordance with County Council procedures.

Assist individuals in the use of general public services in integrative settings to include the development of public awareness and understanding, including meeting the recreational and leisure needs of individuals.

Taking advice from relevant agency personnel, take appropriate action in relation to the maintenance of general health of individuals in relevant circumstances, including adherence to guidelines concerns the administration of medication and first aid procedures where necessary.

To ensure appropriate standards of hygiene, cleanliness and safety are maintained at all times and that residents take proper care of furnishings and equipment in their homes at all times.
