Birmingham, United Kingdom University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust Full time

The Trauma and Orthopaedic Department at UHB Trust has undergone a rapid recent expansion of staff and service provision, along with enhancement of its role as well as regional and national profile. There is a thriving programme of quality improvement. It is rapidly becoming one of the most exciting places in the UK to practice orthopaedic surgery.

We are looking to appoint a consultant to our innovative and ambitious Orthopaedic department which is expanding both clinically and academically in terms of number of consultants, workload and increasing sub-specialisation. This purpose of this appointment is to increase the existing level of elective and trauma surgery within the department.

We are looking for highly committed and enthusiastic individuals who can integrate fully into the department which has remained a cohesive, well balanced and immensely friendly department in which to work.

Consultant monthly department meetings are held to address management and departmental issues and there are also regular clinical governance and QIPS meetings to address specific issues and identify actions to move the service forward.

The department provides teaching and research commitments associated with the University of Birmingham as well as the Birmingham and Warwickshire Orthopaedic Training Programmes.
