Subspecialty Trainee in Urogynaecology
We are inviting applicants for the post of Subspecialty Trainee in Urogynaecology. This is a trust-funded RCOG approved post for a clinical Urogynaecology subspecialty training programme of up to three years duration, following the RCOG 2024 curriculum. It can be commenced from the start of ST5 onwards. Satisfactory completion of the program will be subject to review by the Subspecialty Training Programme Supervisor and RCOG Subspecialty Annual Review process.
Candidates should be highly capable and motivated individuals, with excellent communication and team working skills. They should have the ability to learn technical skills and expand their knowledge base appropriately.
The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the senior middle grade Obstetrics and Gynaecology on call rota at the Oxford Road site.
It is expected that the highest level of training will be provided in the post to enable the Doctor to work as part of a team in a tertiary referral centre, with the appropriate skills to organise and supervise local and regional services, and be active in teaching, quality management and translate research findings into clinical practice.
The post holder will be accountable to the Lead Clinician.
Applicants are invited to contact the Lead Clinicians for further details.
Main duties of the job
The Subspecialty training program has been organised with continuous clinically based training with opportunity for training in additional areas such as basic sciences during the working week. There are opportunities to work with Consultant colleagues in Colorectal and Urology who support training in the subspecialty training curriculum.
The trainee will be expected to supplement the teaching provided with personal study and reading to ensure all aspects of the curriculum are covered during the training period. The timetable and workload will allow extensive exposure to the clinical aspects of the program, ensuring the trainee will develop a wide range of experience in the subspecialty. There is research time within the post and the trainee will be expected to participate in both research and audit throughout the training program.
