The University of Sheffield's AMRC Castings Group specialises in developing the castings industry, in a wide variety of alloys using sand, investment and permanent mould technologies. The AMRC’s Castings team are looking for an enthusiastic individual to join as a Finishing Lead.

The Finishing Lead will work closely under the direction of the Technical Fellow and Projects Lead. This role will co-ordinate the departmental workflow between other Finishing Engineers / operatives, as well as being conducting in all aspects of processing components within the Castings group.

To be a Finishing Lead, you must have expertise in Foundry Finishing practices and the skills to perform disciplines in line with recognised standards. You must also have good leadership skills with the ability to motivate / coordinate other team members.

Delivery of activities involves working with senior team members and potentially customers to ensure full understanding of requirements for successful program delivery.

Your role within the AMRC Castings team will encompass operational and administrative tasks, including Manufacturing documents, purchasing, quality system maintenance, and record keeping, aligned with group requirements.
