London, United Kingdom Frontline Remote Work Freelance Full time

A little bit about the role

We are seeking a qualified social worker for a 7-month fixed term contract (you must be available start in September 2024) to support our Admissions & Support team.

The ideal candidate will excel in line management, conducting suitability checks, and providing guidance on reasonable adjustments and disability issues. With a deep commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion, you will lead and manage the suitability advisors, liaise with partners, and ensure compliance with Social Work England legislation and standards, enhancing our social work programme’s quality and inclusivity.

In supporting the pre-programme process for Approach Social Work, you will be supporting the recruitment and development of new social workers, who will then go onto change the lives of vulnerable children and families.

Some key responsibilities include:

  • Managing other advisors in the team, and at times the officer, to keep on track with the completion of suitability checks
  • Processing of health, adjustment, conduct and social work involvement disclosures in relation to an applicant’s suitability for the programme
  • Attend, and at times chair, suitability panels on health and conduct
  • Working with our university partner to interpret learning and support plans and how these could be implemented in placement
  • Supporting the team and organisation with knowledge around disability and adjustments, in relation to the Equality Act

    A little bit about you

The successful candidate must be a qualified social worker who is experienced in and knowledgeable in legislation from the Equality Act, and can handle sensitive situations with empathy and clarity. The role is well-suited for someone who is detail-oriented, enjoys problem-solving, and is dedicated to creating an inclusive and supportive community. A genuine interest in these values is essential.

We have a fast-moving culture within the team and organisation, so we’re looking for someone who is who is well organised, details-focused and can use their initiative to do what works. You will have excellent communication skills, be able to build relationships with people and be willing to learn. There are lots of opportunities for growth and development in this role – and for the right candidate to make the role their own.

If you feel you have the skills to make a real impact and contribute to creating lasting social change for children and families, we would love to hear from you.

We have increased the diversity of Frontline’s workforce in the last 12 months, but we need to do more to have greater racialised minority representation in our senior roles. We know the value racialised minority voices bring and therefore, we are strongly encouraging applicants from these backgrounds to apply. We are also a disability confident employer and welcome applicants with disabilities.

We reserve the right to close this role ahead of the deadline once we reach a suitable number of applications, so please apply as soon as you can

You will need to have current right-to-work in the UK prior to application and for at least the first six months (for permanent positions) or for the full duration of the contract (for fixed-term positions). Visa sponsorship is not guaranteed.
