Working Hours – 37 hours (consideration will be given to job sharing / reduced hours in line with our flexible working policy)

Who we are

Sport Wales is the national organisation responsible for developing and promoting sport and physical activity in Wales.  We are the main adviser on sporting matters to the Welsh Government and are responsible for distributing National Lottery funds. We aim to not only improve the level of sports participation at grassroots level but also provide our aspiring athletes with the support required to compete successfully on the world stage.

We are a progressive employer that offers excellent employee benefits and promotes a healthy work life balance, offering a range of flexible approaches to support you.

Language skills (bilingualism & multilingualism) are desirable characteristics across all roles within Sport Wales. We are passionate about promoting the use of Welsh language and, as part of our development programme, give everyone the opportunity to learn Welsh if they wish to do so, offering learning programmes from beginner right through to fluent.

How you'll contribute

This role will be a vital part of our HR & OD team and will contribute to creating and delivering people focused services and initiatives that enable Sport Wales to deliver its strategic intent and allow our people to thrive.

You will be joining a small, supportive team contributing to all aspects of HR and OD to deliver a positive, solution focused HR service, with two main areas of responsibility. You will be the team lead for recruitment, managing the end-to-end recruitment and selection process, with a focus on fair and inclusive practices. You will also have primary responsibility for developing initiatives and organising activity to promote employee engagement and wellbeing across the organisation.

Who you'll work with

The HR and OD team sits within the Business Services directorate and provides the full spectrum of HR services for all employees, managers and leadership at Sport Wales.

What you'll need

We are looking for candidates who are passionate about their work, who enjoy working within a team and getting involved in every aspect of delivery. We place a strong emphasis on communication, collaboration, sharing and learning together as a team. You will have experience of providing organisations with HR and OD support and will be looking for your next role to give you a breadth of experience within a progressive organisation. If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.
