Joining our friendly team here at Park View (Alton Day Services) as a Day Opportunities Support Worker, you'll play a key role in supporting people with complex needs, to engage in a variety of personalised and meaningful activities. This could include involvement in projects within the local community, helping people develop important social networks. Providing person-centred support, you'll help people with eating and drinking, personal care and communication. You'll benefit from working closely with colleagues at both Park View and Farnborough Community Link and will be expected to work in Farnborough once a week.

We support people with a range of differing needs, abilities and interests and you'll celebrate this diversity, promoting inclusion while offering fun and fulfilling activities to suit the individual. In this role, no two days are the same. You may be out and about swimming, bowling, going to the cinema or even the pub. Or simply sharing a personal hobby or interest, within our well-resourced facilities.

You may already have experience of enabling or providing care, but it's not essential. For this vital Day Opportunities Support Worker role your life experience is just as important as work experience. Most importantly, you'll demonstrate our core values, showing patience, empathy and compassion and share our commitment to enabling people to lead full and active lives as independently as possible. As a strong team player, you must have good communication skills and the ability to interact with a diverse range of people. With a 'can do' approach, you'll enjoy thinking creatively and inspiring others to engage. Sound basic IT and accurate information recording skills are also essential.

If you have a full driving licence and are happy to drive our Hampshire County Council vehicles, you'll get plenty of opportunities to take our service users out for a variety of community based activities. Please note that a driving licence is not an essential requirement.

In return we can offer you a comprehensive induction programme, so that you'll have all the training you need to do a fantastic job. You'll also get great satisfaction as a Day Opportunities Support Worker from supporting people engage in the activities that mean so much to them.

For this role there is no requirement to work evenings, weekends, or bank holidays.
