THE ROLE

Reporting to the Lead Business Analyst within the Technology Transformation group, this Senior Business Analyst role is crucial for structuring all phases of delivery work. Our team focuses on transformation, delivery, and change across the BBC Studios value chain. We collaborate closely with all product groups to create a coordinated technology pipeline.

This role requires understanding the alignment of various programmes within the BBC Studios technical landscape, specifically enhancing the end-to-end content supply chain operation to ensure it aligns with technical, functional, and operational growth plans of the company.

Key responsibilities:

  • Collaborating with stakeholders to understand business needs and drivers and confirming objectives and priorities.
  • Creating the plan and structure to elicit requirements gathering ensuring all requirements are valid and traceable, contributing to a business case and solution delivery.
  • Demonstrating strong communication skills to adapt messaging appropriately, ensuring processes, needs, approaches, and outcomes are clearly understood.
  • Defining and developing workflows to support and align with the end-to-end content supply chain.
  • Conducting data analysis and mapping to assist in defining a standardized supply chain metadata strategy for content.
  • Identifying business risks and issues; detail business impact creating mitigation plans, include any handover or operational early life support for a smooth transition.


WHAT DOES IT TAKE IT?

Key Criteria

  • Degree in Business Management, Enterprise IT, other relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of business and data analysis tools and techniques such as requirements engineering, structured analysis and design, process mapping and component business modelling, business process re-engineering.
  • Thorough knowledge of project lifecycle delivery methodologies in a technical environment, with extensive experience with Agile methods
  • Experience working in an Agile environment and the ability to turn written requirements into tickets for development teams to work on in JIRA.
  • Good understanding of media production workflows and process.
  • Communication skills - both written and spoken - using a variety of methods.
  • Ability to simplify complex problems, processes or projects into component parts and to explore them.
  • Resilient and able to take input and deliver on a task; works on own initiative; can direct others.

Salary: Up to £65,000 depending on relevant skills, knowledge and experience. The expected salary range for this role reflects internal benchmarking and external market insights.

Contract type: 12 month Fixed Term Contract/Attachment

Location: Hybrid role -office base TVC, London ( This is a hybrid role and the successful candidate will balance office working with home working )
