BBC Academy work across the organisation to support on our learning and development needs, and act very much as a learning hub for all employees irrespective of job function or title.


This role will specifically support the Generative AI initiative and sits within the Academy Operations team, who are responsible for ensuring that the training portfolio has the logistics and processes in place to run smoothly and efficiently.


The role of Training Advisor is to provide an excellent delivery service for the Academy users, coordinating key learning and development, and supporting operational effectiveness.

Main Responsibilities


You will take a leading role in the manual planning, implementation and maintenance of efficient admin systems and processes to ensure smooth running of a learning and development portfolio.

This includes managing the efficient scheduling and resourcing and working as part of a customer and delivery focused team.

  • You will use key Academy business systems to ensure smooth running of training operations and the accurate recording of training data at all times.
  • You will work closely and creatively with the Senior Training Advisor, Training Managers and Trainers and key stakeholders, including external suppliers and freelancers within a portfolio to ensure learning and development delivery is as efficient and effective as possible.
  • You will support the Senior Training Advisor, Training Manager and Senior Training Managers in meeting objectives set for the Academy and providing reports and analysis to complete ad hoc projects, events and tasks as required.
Are you the right candidate?


You will be a good team player that has excellent communication skills that will be utilised across a range of stake-holders.

Ideally, you will have experience gained from a data analysis type role where attention to detail has played a key part of your role.


You will demonstrate:

  • Experience of business systems for handling large amounts of manual data whilst creating and maintaining processes.
  • Good analytical skills and the ability to research and analyse a problem and/or data to form practical solutions
  • The ability to influence and negotiate and work well with your stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience of business IT systems (Advanced Excel, all MS Suites, SAP, Teams etc) and an interest in the principles of training and a desire to develop your own skills
  • Experience of manually setting up and management of events would be an advantage
  • Knowledge of BBC policies, procedures and guidelines, and knowledge of BBC systems and processes including SuccessFactors and Smartbook would be an advantage
