About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Sustrans as a Project Officer working in partnership with Southeastern, Medway Council and other partners in developing the Kent Community Railway Partnership (CRP). You will work as part of a small team, building strong relationships with communities, schools, workplaces and other local organisations.

As the Project Officer, you will help deliver the CRP action plan, which is a combination of mini-projects and core activities, offering a tailored package of support to groups and various community and school groups. You will also bring new volunteers on board and support them with their ongoing experience as part of the CRP.

As the project officer you will develop and engage communities in fun, innovative and informative activities. You will also share resources, and work with communities to reduce car use to and from train stations, increasing the opportunities for walking wheeling and cycling,

This role will require travel and work throughout Kent including the Isle of Sheppey as necessary to undertake projects on behalf of Sustrans.

About you

You should have experience of leading, motivating activities for schools and community groups, being able to communicate confidentially to diverse communities by various means.

You should have the ability to build relationships with ease across a wide range of people including local authorities and similar partners.

We ask you demonstrate your knowledge of the local area including the Isle of Sheppey.
