Applications are invited for 2 Specialty Doctor substantive posts in the Dermatology Department at NNUHFT. This is an 10PA post, to start as soon as possible. It will involve general dermatology, skin lesion/cancer clinics, and surgery. The team of consultants in dermatology currently stands at 16 substantive consultants, 3 nurse consultants and 2 locum consultants.

There is opportunity to gain further experience in dermatology and successful applicants will be encouraged to consider Portfolio pathway training towards CCST.

Applicants must have 2 years' experience of working in UK NHS Dermatology departments, must have MRCP Part 1 and must have full GMC registration with a license to practise.

Start date for these posts are as soon as the candidate is available

Main duties of the job

The appointment is to the Trust, not to specific hospitals.

All doctors, including the appointees, will be expected to be involved in implementing the Trust's Clinical Governance programme. This includes active participation in clinical audit, quality, clinical guidelines/pathways, professional development, appraisal and risk management.

The post will include 6 clinics. These clinics vary and include general dermatology, paediatric, minor surgery/daycase to other specialist clinics. These will change from time to time according to patient need.The post will include independent working clinical working, with indirect consultant supervision, and appropriate supervision of other doctors and nurses.

The duties of this post also includes working with other doctors to provide medical cover for nurses led clinics, such as day treatment, acne clinic, phototherapy, amongst others.

Urgent dermatology duties will include covering for acute GP and hospital referrals, one long day every 2 weeks (8am-7pm) and non-resident Dermatology Specialty Doctor cover some weekends. A non-resident availability supplement will be calculated.
