Specialist Support Worker - Adults with Learning Disabilities - Llanelli

Are you a passionate, dedicated Specialist Support Worker looking for your next role? 4Recruitment Services are recruiting a Specialist Support Worker to join a team based in Llanelli.

Umbrella Rate: £15.42 per hour

Duration: 3 months initially

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am 5.30pm, 37 hrs/week

Specialist Support Worker role: Full JD Available

  • Provide care and support to Adults with Learning Disabilities
  • Enable service users to engage in a range of internal and external activities and opportunities to achieve agreed goals and objectives as stated in their care plan
  • Implement a range of health provision and personal care for service users with complex needs including Peg Feeding & Medication etc.
  • Ensure a caring and enabling environment that respects and promotes the dignity and independence of the service users
  • Demonstrate patience, caring and understanding
  • Act as an advocate for each service user to ensure their individual rights and choices are met
  • Raise an concerns immediately to your line manager
  • Work as part of a team with a range of professionals and other services and develop effective relationships with service users parents/carers in the local community
  • Accurately record relevant documentation

Essential Requirements

  • Commitment to undertake QCF Level 2 Diploma in Health & Social Care (Adults) within 2 years
  • Knowledge and understanding of the differing needs and abilities of people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and complex needs
  • Ability to support service users and act as advocate to communicate individuals needs effectively
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Enhanced Adult DBS registered to the update service
