Finance Data Modeller

Finance Data Modeller - Permanent Full-time/ Hybrid

We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Data Modeller to join our Finance team here at toob, where you’ll be instrumental in transforming financial data into actionable insights that support our strategic financial planning and analysis.

Responsibilities:


• Develop, Maintain, and Improve Financial Models:
Continuously create, refine, and optimise complex financial models that support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning. Your models will be pivotal in ensuring accurate financial projections and long-term financial stability

• Design and Implement Data Models:
Develop robust and scalable data models that streamline financial reporting processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial insights. Your work will enhance the efficiency of financial analysis across the organisation


• Collaborate with Internal Departments:
Work closely with various departments to gather essential operational data and understand their financial requirements. Ensure that all data used in financial models is accurate, consistent, and reliable by establishing strong data governance practices


• Utilise Advanced Data Analytics Tools:
Leverage advanced Excel functions, along with other data analytics tools, to extract, transform, and analyse complex financial data. Your expertise will enable you to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies that inform strategic decisions


• Create Interactive Dashboards and Visualisations:
Use Power BI to design and build interactive dashboards that present financial insights in a visually compelling way. These dashboards will enable stakeholders to quickly grasp financial performance, growth trends, and productivity metrics

• Report on Performance KPIs:
Analyse and report on key performance indicators related to current and future financial performance, growth, and productivity. Your insights will directly influence commercial decisions, helping the business to navigate challenges and seize opportunities


• Support Ad-Hoc Financial Analysis and Scenario Modelling:
Provide in-depth financial analysis and create various scenario models to inform business decisions. Your ability to model different financial outcomes will be critical in assessing the impact of potential business strategies


• Monitor and Optimise Data Models:
Regularly review and refine financial and data models to ensure they remain accurate, efficient, and aligned with the latest business needs. Your continuous improvements will help maintain the relevance and reliability of our financial reporting.





What you’ll bring to the role:



• 3-5 years of experience in financial modelling, data analysis, and financial reporting, with a track record of delivering actionable insights

• Highly proficient in Excel, with experience in using advanced functions, pivot tables, and macros to manipulate and analyse large data sets

• Expertise with Data Visualisation tools, skilled in using Power BI or similar to create interactive and insightful dashboards that communicate complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders

• A solid understanding of financial principles, accounting practices, IFRS, and UK GAAP. An accounting qualification, such as AAT, or familiarity with telecommunications industry data is a plus

• Exceptional analytical abilities with a keen attention to detail. Capable of identifying issues, proposing solutions, and implementing improvements in financial models and reporting processes

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively across teams to achieve common goals

• Must have the right to work in the UK without restrictions and reside within a commutable distance to Lakeside North Harbour.
