About the Role

The Sport Science Department is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and talented Senior Lecturer in Strength and Conditioning whose primary role will be to lead and deliver the new MSc in Strength and Conditioning (Sept 2025 start). You will be a great communicator and team player. We are seeking a candidate who has detailed knowledge of Strength and Conditioning Practice (including Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics and Coaching Practice). Experience in leading a multi-disciplinary module and coordinating teaching contributions from academic colleagues is required.

Ideally, you will be research active, have a PhD, and your research will have societal, sport performance or economic impact. The post-holder will be joining sport and exercise scientists and social scientists in the Sport, Health and Performance Enhancement (SHAPE) Research Centre. High-level mentoring is available for all staff.

About Us

The School of Science and Technology at Nottingham Trent University (NTU) is an exciting multidisciplinary environment for learning, teaching and research, with some of the best facilities in the UK.

We specialise in biosciences, chemistry, computing and technology, as well as engineering, forensic science, mathematics, physics and sport science. The Sport Science department has a long and successful history of delivering sport-related courses and we are currently expanding our undergraduate and taught postgraduate provision. The department comprises 60 academic staff and ~40 PhD research students and recent investment has enhanced our physical resources, research environment and the student learning experience. We recently established the ground-breaking Sport and Wellbeing Academy and we have excellent teaching and research facilities including two human movement and neuromuscular performance laboratories in the £4m Natural Sciences Research Centre. We offer a friendly environment of excellence and invite you to join us.
