As a leader you will communicate with brevity and impact, and understand how your stakeholder management and influencing skills, are every bit as important as your technical ability.

 

We are transitioning to a Platform' model of working, with each Platform having a Principal architect to shape the strategy and roadmaps for their area, including current, transition and target states.  You will take a holistic view of your area and be able to articulate the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for the solutions, the Functional Fitness and Tech Health of the estate, as well as being trusted advisor to the business.

About the role

 

  • Work with other Principal architects to join the roadmaps together into a coherent enterprise-wide view.
  • Run governance for your area, taking ownership of adherence to Architecture Principles and guardrails.
  • Line-manage and mentor a small (4- 8) team of solution and enterprise architects.
  • Improve time to market and speed to value for change initiatives. As well as Operational Efficiency, focussing on digital-first, automated solutions.  
  • Manage risks, controls, and mitigating actions for your area.

 

 

About you

 

  • Extensive experience in enterprise or solutions architecture, designing seamless customer journey solutions.
  • Broad experience designing data platforms and integration patterns with a background in software engineering designing solutions utilising Azure technologies.
  • You will have experience running end-to-end governance process.
  • Ability to line manage a team dealing with all people related matters and support their growth and development.
  • You will have solid communication and influencing skills with high emotional intelligence and empathy.
  • Experience working in a finance company, including Protection (Insurance), Pensions and Long-Term Savings would be advantageous.
