An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Rheumatology Clinical Lead to join the newly formed National Strategic Network for Musculoskeletal Health (MSK), which is part of the NHS Wales Executive, hosted by Public Health Wales. The National Strategic Network for MSK brings together multidisciplinary professionals in a supportive and dynamic team.
Our MSK Strategic Network will be driven by clinical knowledge and evidence, patient experience, innovation and through collaborative working. By enabling and encouraging partnership working, the MSK Strategic Network will be creative and opportunistic in aligning efforts to the wider health and care strategy with the aim of reducing the burden of disease and narrowing inequities across Wales.
We are seeking a Rheumatology Clinical Lead to join the existing team, to work collaboratively providing specialist knowledge and leadership, supporting an all-Wales approach. This role comprises two clinical sessions per week. The successful candidate would need to be working at consultant level, to take on this challenging role which will provide clinical leadership, strategic direction, and expertise for a newly formed Rheumatology Clinical Implementation Network.
Main duties of the job
As Clinical Lead for a Clinical Implementation Network, the post holder will both work in partnership to develop and deliver the aims and objectives of the network as well as working within the wider Strategic Clinical Network (MSK) and with other networks as part of the Networks and Planning Directorate of the NHS Executive
Work with colleagues, both clinical and managerial, to build a coherent Rheumatology Clinical Implementation Network
Provide clinical leadership within the network for a visible data to knowledge quality outcomes framework to drive planning and improvement
Provide leadership and work with colleagues to drive improvement in clinical outcomes within services in the scope of the network
Together with the Network Manager and the National Strategic Clinical Network Clinical Lead, work to ensure a focus on clinical quality, providing clinical oversight to ensure they support quality management systems consistent with the NCF
Influence the planning of sustainable services in line with the expectations set out in the NCF
Challenge unwarranted clinical and organisational variation at national, regional, health board and clinical team level
Contribute strategically to improving the quality and value of healthcare services
