Applications are invited for a Research Assistant position at the School of Psychology and Clinical Language Sciences at the University of Reading for a Simons Foundation funded multisite project investigating sensory biomarkers in pre-school children with autism.
You should have substantial experience working with autistic children and/or substantial experience using EEG with young children. The post will involve recruiting families with a young child with autism.
You will schedule families’ visits and also administer a testing battery with the young autistic child. This will be in collaboration with the wider the research team. This is a collaborative project between the University of Reading (Dr. Teresa Tavassoli), Birkbeck University (Prof. Emily Jones) and Kings College London (Dr Nick Puts). The empirical work will be carried out at the University of Reading.
In order to be successful you will:
- Have a proven track record of working with autistic children and/or substantial experience using EEG with young children. Knowledge of developmental testing and experimental methods is essential.
- You will be proficient in basic software including Excel and SPSS and have the ability to work well with children and parents under research conditions.
The post is a fixed-term contract for up to 1 year.
