Quality Engineer

Volantes Technical Recruitment, on behalf of our long standing U.K Based fixed wing client have the permanent role of Quality Engineer available.
The role is to support and document the continuous improvement of the company’s airworthiness-based compliance and safety management system ‘CMS/SMS’, complying with applicable airworthiness regulations (e.g. UK & EASA Part-CAMO.GEN.200) in consultation with key stakeholders
Key Duties & Responsibility
- Research using source data (i.e. government/CAA websites) in support of company publications (e.g. safety policy, investigations)
- Draft company publication content for nominated person review/approval
- Manage departmental documents (i.e. formatted consistently, classified accordingly, reviewed as required, etc)
- Facilitate the staffing of risk assessments through stakeholder engagement
- Draft reports on CMS/SMS performance, from an airworthiness lens
- Arrange compliance/safety meetings and document inputs/outputs with efficient agenda/minutes
- Carry out airworthiness audits and generate reports (incl. suppliers)
- Collate and analyse data for the Compliance and Safety Manager (Airworthiness)
- Update spreadsheets with the latest regulatory requirements
- Carry out procurement research (e.g. training courses, equipment, etc)
- Process uploading/editing/removing of documents on the various systems
- Capture and implement lessons learned to ensure continuous improvement
- Absorb and embody a positive culture and contribute to reporting
- Proactively support those proposing changes, in consultation with the Compliance and Safety Manager (Airworthiness)
Experience & Qualifications
- Understanding of aviation regulations is (essential)
- Aviation engineering background (essential)
- Experience working in a team
- Proven experience in management systems including AS9100 (desirable)
- Previous auditing experience (desirable)
- Experience working with competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
Skills Profile
- Excellent proficiency in Google Workspace or Microsoft Office, including commonly used office packages
- Consistent administration of activities with excellent attention to detail
- Able to work flexibly, can work unsupervised and use own initiative
- Ability to handle confidential information
- Demonstrates ability to manage pressure and conflicting demands, and prioritise tasks and workload to meet deadlines
