Communications and Engagement Representative

Leeds, United Kingdom Wifinity Full time

About us:
Wifinity was founded in 2007 to solve a problem—our armed forces were struggling with reliable connectivity. While living in barracks, often in remote locations, ordering a landline and booking in an engineer just wasn’t an option.

And that problem isn’t exclusive to the military, either. Students living in University accommodation, families visiting holiday resorts, or living in shared accommodation and retirement communities.

Conventional home broadband doesn’t always work for them.

Wifinity is different. We offer the same benefits as traditional broadband, such as super-fast speeds, WiFi, and secure and private networks, but none of the downsides. We even offer Pay As You Go and flexible contracts, so customers only pay for what they need without hefty penalties or long contract terms.

We take the complexity out of connectivity.

The opportunity:

The Communications and Engagement Representative, as part of the marketing and comms team, will promoting Wifinity’s services, drive user uptake and be the primary interface with end-users on-site. These include running and attending customer locations around the UK, as well as launch events, industry expos, tradeshows, welcome stands, Go-Live events, etc.

The successful candidate will have strong organisation and communication skills, will be able to prioritise flexibly and the ability to work collaboratively within a busy team.

Key areas of focus:

Working under the direction of the communications and engagement manager, you will work with a range of stakeholders across the business and our customers to:

  • Travel to customer sites around the country (extensive travel with overnight stays (up to 4/5 days a week ‘on the road’))
  • Support new site launches and attending promotional events
  • Promoting our services and providing hands-on support and advise directly to end users
  • Ensuring promotional and comms material is in place / is effective across customer locations
  • Coordinate calendar of events, including drafting/updating visit schedules, Wifinity representatives, marketing material requirements
  • Liaising with the various on-site management and our customers’ staff, marketing/comms team, and others involved in events/engagements
  • Various research, data or insight gathering tasks on markets or customers
  • Collating customer and end-user insight and feedback

You may be required to carry out further responsibilities at the company's discretion.

About you:

You will be an enthusiastic ‘people-person' who is willing to get stuck in, talk to and engage with members of the public from all walks of life, with a positive attitude and be an empathetic and active listener.  Working with the Communications and Engagement Manager, you will be able to pick up a range of practical tasks and make sure they are completed on time and to budget.  You will want to learn more about communications and/or marketing as a discipline and will embrace this opportunity to work in supporting the rest of the team to gain direct, hands-on experience in communications/marketing yourself.

You will have good organisational skills, able to work on a number of different tasks at the same time, with excellent sense of time management.

Your experience…

  • Confident communication and flexing style to meet different audiences needs
  • Strong organisation skills
  • Very strong people skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a busy team
